Cliff Spooner started it, and the family still runs it.
A joinery and building business in the Cumbrian Eden Valley in 1981. Today we make windows, doors and the rest of the house at Kingdom House in Carlisle, with a branch in Dumfries.

Eden Valley to Durranhill
How we got here
In 1984 Window World was formed to fit PVC-u windows, doors and roofline. Manufacturing in Carlisle started at Rome Street in January 1985, then moved to larger premises at Lancaster Street in 1987, still fitting across Cumbria, South West Scotland and the North East.
The World Group name came in 1998, so the wider home improvements and HomeCare could sit alongside the windows. Since then more than £1.5 million has gone into automating the factory and moving the head office to Kingdom House on the Durranhill Industrial Estate.
The manufacturing, installation and aftercare are run to British Standards, and the product ranges are CE marked. Seven family members work in the business.

Careers and apprenticeships
