Roof Replacement
Windows, Doors & Roofing Project
In picturesque Northumberland a rural family home needed multiple areas updating, replacing and upgrading. With our help, it has been revitalised into a warm, smart and comfortable home. Covering five main areas of work, we spent 12 months - on and off - turning this lovely property into a house our clients are incredibly proud of.
This was our major challenge, with tricky angles and an expansive surface area that needed some TLC. Not only did the roof seem to go on for miles and miles, it also incorporated some leaking gullies, sky lights and velux windows. In summary, the roof had little insulation, inadequate lead flashing and poor fitting tiles; which in turn, created leaks, drafts and damp patches.
We carried out a complete replacement of the roof including: wooden battons, lining and felt, lead flashings and fibreglass gullies, a complete refit of Kingspan and Rockwall insulation before topping it off with the new grey Sandtoft TLE tiles. Once the roof was back to its best, we enhanced the aesthetics even further by using PVC Roofline materials to hand craft PVC end caps and verge covers.
Next, we moved onto the garage roof, replacing the tiles so that the garage matched the main house.
We arrived at the property to find a poorly designed and constructed flat roof area. We used our craftsmanship to redesign the flat roof using a fibre glass gully system, combined with cutting the tiles to perfectly fit the tricky angles of the roof. This provided an effective solution to an area which previously had poor drainage.
To help prevent water leaking into the chimney breast, we over laid a protective fibre glass membrane with a lead like appearance.
