Storage and insulation
Lofts that stay warm
Storage is designed and made at the Carlisle depot, and fitted across Cumbria. A raised platform leaves room for the quilt underneath. Floorboards laid straight onto the quilt compress it and can cut its performance sharply. We use 270mm of mineral wool, about a 0.16 U-value. A habitable loft is insulated at the rafters instead, with ventilation kept so the roof can breathe.

Outside
Gardens
More than 30 years of property improvement work. Artificial grass, patios, paving and aggregate, and carports, canopies and verandas. Fencing runs from concrete, timber picket and trellis to bamboo and composite. The composite fence is UK made, about 75% recycled, and carries a 20 year guarantee. Garden fencing.
Bathrooms
Design and planning, the suite, and the wall and floor coverings, fitted across Cumbria and south-west Scotland. Moving the plumbing and electrics adds time and cost. Replacing only the suite costs less and changes less. A 2–3 bed bathroom starts from £2,500. The water and electric will be off while the work is done.
